Celebrate Constitution Day 2019 – Observed on September 17
  • Constitution Day is normally observed on September 17 each year.
  • Did you know that the U.S. Department of Education declared that any education institution receiving federal funds must offer lessons on the U.S. Constitution every year for Constitution Day?

Law for Young Adults Resource Available – Updated!
The Law for Young Adults Resource for students preparing to turn 18 is available was recently updated. This is a fabulous resource with over 30 topics relating to teenagers turning into adults. This is a great resource to use in the classroom or for students to go directly to for assistance. The document is available for downloading here.

 We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution
FREE One Day Training – July 30, September 19

We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution is a curriculum-based study of American history, with a strong focus on the Constitution and Bill of Rights. It was created by the Center for Civic Education and is supported in South Carolina by the SC Bar Law Related Education (LRE) Division. The curriculum correlated to the state standards is available for grades four through 12. The SC Bar Law Related Education Division appreciates all of the time and dedication given to the Mock Trial program. We know your students and their parents appreciate your commitment to the team and your school would not be able to participate in Mock Trial competitions without great teachers like you. The 2019 High School Mock Trial season has come to a close, but not before recognizing the 2019 State Champion, Strom Thurmond High School and first runner-up, Wade Hampton High School. Learn more »

Middle School Mock Trial Special Addition – CONWAY – Results and BIG Thank You
The 2018-19 make-up regional competition in Conway for their Middle School Mock Trial season just came to a close on March 23. Five teams from the Conway and Georgetown area competed in this special regional competition. This competition was rescheduled after the community experienced substantial flooding in the fall of 2018. Learn more »
